Can I support any UK charity?

Yes! Raisr allows you to support any charity – as long as it is registered with one of the Charity Commissions of England & Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland.

How much can I give?

Micro-donations are set by you at either:

Round-Up: which work out your ‘spare change’ to the nearest pound.

Fixed amount: 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 or £2 (per transaction).

You can set a monthly cap to make sure you never give more than you can afford. You can set the cap to £0 if you’d like to stop giving at any time. 

We do not make money from this service, it’s here to help you support causes you like on your terms. 

Will this work with my existing pre-paid or debit card?

The Raisr service is embedded in a number of payment cards and devices already. We’re adding new banks and payment companies every month so you can choose to sign up with one of our payment partners, or wait until your current one becomes available (you can switch which card triggers the service at a later date).

We aim to make Raisr available across as many different payment cards and services as we are able! Wherever and however you spend, we want to be able to provide you the means to give.

Can I stop giving micro-donations if I want?

Yes you can stop at any time.

We provide a monthly donation cap option, which means that if your donations reach that value in the current calendar month, the micro-donations will stop automatically triggering until the start of the next month (donation boosts are not affected).

Simply set the cap to £0 to pause your donations.

What does it cost to use?

Raisr is FREE for charities and users.

Our aim is to help as many people as possible support as many charities as they wish. 

What is the Raisr Club?

The Raisr Club is a portal with a fantastic set of financially valuable and enjoyable member benefits designed at rewarding you for supporting a good cause through access to experiences and special events, as well as an excellent set of offers and discounts across many high street and online brands.

Our aim is for you to be able to save the pounds and make giving the pennies more affordable!

How much of my donation gets to my charity?

All of it. 100%. There are no fees or deductions of any kind.

In addition to your donations, charities receive the Donation Boost (cashback paid by  the retailers) and all of the qualifying gift aid that they apply for (25p for every £1, paid for by the government if you are a taxpayer).

That means your charity should receive considerably more than your donations.

What is Donation Boost?

When you shop at one of our partner retailers, qualifying purchases will generate anywhere between 1% and 20% of the total value of that transaction. We’ll then give a quarter of that (or more) to your supported charity, automatically, to boost your own micro-donation.

Can I support more than one charity?

You can only support one charity at a time for now, but you are able to change that charity if you wish. Changes take effect from the 1st of the following month.

For Charities: 

How do our supporters start supporting us via Raisr?

It’s easy. Direct them to www.raisr.org. From there they can sign up quickly, select a compatible payment partner to attach the service to, set their giving rules and start supporting you right away! If they don’t have a compatible payment card or product, we’ll offer them the chance to sign up for one so that they and your charity can feel the benefit.

What does it cost our charity to use Raisr?

Nothing at all. It’s 100% free for you! In addition, we won’t take any deductions from micro-donations (of the Gift Aid you claim on them).

We are a commercial organisation and our revenues come from: Fees paid to us by banks and card issuers (to facilitate Raisr on their services), club membership fees for those on a premium membership. .

Are there any deductions?

No. You’ll receive: 100% of the micro-donation, 100% of Gift Aid, 100% of the donation boost balance (varies by transaction type and retailer).

What is Donation Boost?

‘Donation Boost’ is a method for generating additional funds for your charity. This is done in the form of a ‘cashback’ provided by our retailer partners. The amount of this cashback varies from retailer to retailer and is paid typically up to 60 days after the transaction. Raisr, receives this amount and then divides it up. The charity portion is then added to the accruals account of each charity – ready for periodic disbursements.

A full report will be provided to you so you can see how the collections are made up.

Are there any charges for our donors / supporters?

No, all core services are free and always will be. 

Donors that choose to select the Raisr Club membership will pay a monthly or annual fee to access the benefits if they choose – but this will not impact on donations to your charity.

When and how do we receive the funds raised?

We disburse all donations to each registered charity on a quarterly basis once we collect some details about your charity and trustees in accordance with our secure AML policies. A full report of the makeup of funds will be supplied alongside.

Does Raisr work with other fundraising solutions?

Yes! The Raisr service works independently of other payment activity so for example, any payment made to any other charity with the Raisr powered card, could still result in the micro-donation to your charity, even if say the card was used on a contactless donation tin.

How is our charity promoted by Raisr?

Raisr promote your charity on our site and in regular communications that go out to Raisr users

What about Gift Aid?

You can claim gift aid where applicable. Raisr will provide you with all of the necessary details and consents to make a claim against micro-donated funds raised.

Will we get a report?

You will receive a full report each quarter which will detail the funds raised on your behalf as well as provide other metrics, analytics and insights to help you better understand the behaviour of your supporters.

Yes, completely. We have used certified, banking-grade technologies to build Raisr and our technology and processes have been approved by some of the biggest banks. We take the security of payment data, charity data and user data extremely seriously and can provide further details of all the processes and technologies we have in place on request.
